Natural Cat Diet

Being a cat owner isn't always that easy: Apparently everything they do considering their cat's diet seems to be wrong. If  they buy the cheap food they feel like they won't cherish their cat enough.
If they buy the more expensive food, though, they will often think "is that product  really worth two dollars more or am I just paying for the ad instead?" "Does it really have a better, healthier content or does it contain the same crap like the cheap food?"

Many outrageous stories are being told about cat food or pet food in general. Most cat owners ask themselves once in a while: But what's the alternative to cat food from the supermarket?

The answer is really obvious!

Natural cat diet with raw food

Cats that live in the wild don't just hunt mice for fun (although it seems to be fun). Mice are the perfect food for a cat. Millions of years of evolution let us suggest this. But most of the cats today aren't born on a romantic farm where they can hunt mice whenever they like. In the worst case they were born in a dark small city flat and only leave it to get into another flat. Those cats barely know what "natural" and "mice" means.

You can rarely buy tons of mice in retail, of course, but there are other ways to get hold of real raw flesh. This flesh and other parts of the body like organs give the ideal quantity of vitamines, minerals and so on to your cat. Most cats even like this kind of food much better. The results of a natural cat diet are a shiny fur, a better immun system and a more relaxed and active cat (since good food also strengthens mental health).

You can buy that healthy raw flesh for your cat either in the next supermarked (chicken, fish, and all other kinds of unsalted and unseasoned types of raw flesh), in some well-assorted pet stores or via internet (we found this to be the easiest method).

The Solution: BARF Cat Diet

B.A.R.F. means Biologically Appropiate Raw Food and stays for a relatively new kind of cat (or pet) nourishmet.

Flesh (sometimes bones), fish and vegetables (in small amounts) are being fed to the cat. The cat owners have to control composition of each themselves.

If you want to enable an appropiate diet for your cat you won't be able to not cross BARF. There are lots and lots of information to be found online since the BARF community is a strongly growing one.

How to Engage Your Cat

Cats are frisky characters by nature who divide their life into snooze- and playtime and - in the meanwhile - also eat a little.

Cats want to be engaged. Especially those cats who life inside a house and therefore won't see much of the wonderful and ever-changing outdoors. Cats who live in the wild play with natural objects like flying leaves and captured rodents which you can observe especially on kittens.

Of course you can also engage your cat in a way that makes her dull indoor life a little more interesting by getting toys and showing what to do with them. A suitable toy for a cat doesn't have to be synthetic, stylish and therefore often expensive. Wool, old socks and other interesting materials can perfectly be used to build a fun toy for your cat.

Cats want to play!

A soft string (best suited are, of course, natural materials like wool) as well as hand-made soft objects that looks a little like a mouse for example are great toys for your cat that often don't cost a thing.

As soon as you have shown your cat the new (handmade) toy your cat will understand what it is made for and use it herself. That will not only be fun for your cat. :)

One thing though: Cats think autonomous. So she might be pleased that you as her servent have brought her a new toy but you certainly can't force her to play with it!
